Couch 2 5k week 1 day 3

Run was uneventful. Roscoe came along for the run.... Note To self: although I love my husband dearly his constant need to talk and ask me if I am ok as I'm huffing and puffing like the little engine that could is quite the distraction.

Couch 2 5k week 1 day 2

Today I found myself without motivation to do this day...finally after running errands prepping 8 quarts of strawberries and some quality knitting I decided that I just needed to do it and get it over with. I pushed myself a little more today. I feel great! My most treasured moment on this trek today was a lovely woman who was out in her garden as I rumbled by..no doubt she felt the earth tremor and so she wanted to see the source. But she waved at me as I jogged by pushing the double stroller with sleeping kiddos and she said "keep up the good work". I have never met that woman in my life and yet she was so sincere, and just the motivation I needed to finish my run. God bless that woman.

Couch 2 5k week 1 day 1

overall I found today to be a success.I consider it a win because none of my parts juggled off, injuring an innocent bystander, Roo will enjoy her very own milkshake the next time she nurses and last but not least I completed the first day and had the motivation to do it!  See you on day two....friday!

Knitting up a storm

Lately I have had the opportunity to test some free patterns and I have been so excited I have been working non stop on all the wonderfulness I have came across and clearing out some of my stash all at the same time. I highly recommend that if you knit or crochet that you check out the wonderful world of pattern testing.:) I have never been more challenged and yet felt so accomplished at the same time. It pushes me to expand my knowledge and try new stitches that I might be deterred from otherwise and to boot the pattern writers are just wonderful and helpful if you get stuck. Im so very excited to start my next project.

Embarking on a New Knitting Journey

I have been itching to broaden my knitting horizons and have been so afraid to do so. I have applied to test patterns for folks but have always fallen short and not made the cut... most of the time just because I didnt catch the post quick enough. Today all that changed. I have my first official tester pattern and I am super excited to get started. I have until April 9th. Wish me luck!

I am Not a Bird

Sadly, I came to the realization just the other day that I am a horrible "nester". I have been so scatter brained lately that I literally stop, mid thought just to remember what I was doing. I have been cleaning my kitchen for the past 3 days. I rearranged and have been scrubbing every nook and cranny. I feel that I have done well until I leave my kitchen and find that the rest of my house could easily use a solid 3 days of deep cleaning as well. I am sure that some of it is more in my head than anything else. I feel the need to make everything fit perfectly. Currently,I am on day number 4 in the kitchen but in my defense I am now working on maximizing space and pantry organization. I am seriously hoping today will be my last day in the kitchen. I am thinking the bathroom should be next on my list because its so small I can probably do it in a day. That includes organization. I feel a sense of urgency to accomplish this space saving adventure prior to Roo's arrival. Roscoe has told me to help gather my thoughts I should write a list. I feel that if I saw how much was actually on the list I would be more overwhelmed than I am now. Sounds like added stress to me. I am setting a deadline of March 24 at that time I will have a donation service come out to pick up everything we are getting rid of and so everything needs to be taken care of and sorted properly at that time. Please ask me how my cleaning is going. The more accountability the better I will be, Lord willing. At least I hope that is the case. Thank you for listening to my ramblings. Maybe, you can relate.

** Pocket Dots Review **

Are you tired of tugging your belly band to stop it from riding up? I know that I do. Then I stumbled on the most fantastic belly band accessory that I have ever seen, its called Pocket Dots. Pocket dots work with any maternity/postpartum spandex band. They are simple to use and super effective. They offer coordinating colors to match your maternity band, to make it more "stealth" I caught myself more than once reaching to adjust my band, out of habit, then realizing that the Pocket Dots were keeping everything from riding up. Prior to receiving the Pocket Dots I was definitely worried about how easy it would be to use the bathroom. Since we all know that pregnancy keeps us running to the bathroom more often than not. Thankfully, my concerns were no problem at all, the pocket dots unlatched in one swift motion and caused no incidents. They were also very easy to reattach. Please don't just take my word for it, try these for yourself. You can also "like" Pocket Dots on Facebook, or follow @pocketdots on Twitter, for all new updates with the company. If you enjoy blogs go ahead and visit Miss Annie, the Pocket Dots Lady, http://kidlist.blogspot.com. Leave her some comment love and if you do make sure to let her know you are visiting from OrGaNiZeD cHaOs.

Warshin' Wednesday

Wednesday is my who does the what and gets stuff done day. (I love how people say warsh instead of wash. I am sure that there are some who hate it. I find it to be a little comical.) In short today my washer will be going pert near non stop and sweeping and mopping will also be done. Maybe more if I am ambitious, probably not though. Then knitting will round out the day. I am currently working on a cotton sundress and joined a Ravelry KAL (knit a long).I haven't forgot about Rascal, I am sure he will be getting into everything from here to kingdom come all day. Very exciting happenings around here. :) The Roo countdown is at 64 days.

Decluttering tip: Remove 5 items from your "hot spot" every day and put them away. (A hot spot is a place that gathers junk on a regular basis... for us it is the dining room table.)

Oliver's Labels Review

Ever been around multiple children and for the life of you not be able to figure out who's sippy/bottle belongs to whom? Or even better yet, be at your favorite play place where shoe's are required to be taken off and have two or more kiddos with the same shoes in the cubbies... inevitably right next to one another? Instead of getting frustrated with the mix ups, make sure you are  never in that group again. Click on over to Oliver's Labels where you can literally find a label for EVERYTHING!!! These labels are high quality, waterproof, durable, washer AND dishwasher safe, they will never fade, scuff or peel.  But wait there is more! They have tons of different designs to choose from as well. There are designs for all different personalities. If you ever lose your item they have a "found it" code option that is completely free and can be added to any  label when ordering. If your item is found, the finder, can log onto the website (provided on the label) and type in the code. You will be notified immediately by Oliver's labels who will act as a intermediary so you will never have to give out any personal information.

I was skeptical at first, I have tried many different brands of labels and have either had problems with food remnants not wiping off and/or peeling. These labels did neither, in fact they still look the same as when I put them on the very first day! I decided to get Rascal the camo print and was very pleased with the color quality as well, nothing dull about these labels.  We used them in shoes, on sippy cups etc but the uses are endless. What about putting it on an ipod, cell phone, keys, backpacks, you name it and it can be labeled. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants high quality at a reasonable price.

Good Morning Everyone!

I have been slacking recently due to a nasty bout with a cold as well as a birthday and so many plans that may days didn't even seem to exist. Now that things have slowed a bit I am excited to come back. I turned 23 this past week and decided that there is really nothing special about turning 23. My insurance went down approx $12 a month... that still fails to offset the motorcycle accident we were in. FYI Roscoe is not allowed to purchase a bike in the near future. I told him the next time it would be even discussable is after the kids are grown and we both have life insurance policies. Until then it is not negotiable.

We had an ice storm the other day, and of course I ran out of medicine. I think I may have to brave the cold today and get some medicine and some lemon tea. I'm dreading it deeply. Lol.

Last, but not least, I would like to share that our countdown for Roo is now at 72 days, it's just around the corner and we are so excited to meet her!xx

I wish you all a very warm and happy day . If you are traveling please be safe. And is always, let the good Lord bless you.

Giving God The Glory

Giving God the glory is something I often forget. I say "look what I accomplished" feeling the need to have a pat on the back. The other day, after talking with a lady I hold dear to my heart, I realized that I have not been doing this as often as I should. God has blessed us with a roof over our heads, food in our bellies, and a mass amount of other non essentials gifts that I take for granted frequently. Things always seem to hit a little harder when there are those you know that are struggling more than you. You want to help and then when they say thank you, your response is normally " I've been there too," or " its no big deal," when in reality that is the perfect time to say " Give the glory to God," or " trust in Him and He will not abandon you." Please remember that as you are out and about, and take a moment to care about another person today. Open your heart to the Lord and your eyes will see the world in a whole new way.

Treat Your Self To A Hot Pink Cupcake

Wishing You and Yours a Happy Valentine's Day! <3

Weekend In A Nut Shell

Sorry I did not disclaimer earlier. I do not get online on the weekends. Besides the fact that the weekends are normally family time it also gives me time to purge from my online weekday time :) We had a very interesting time as first time parents. Rascal decided that he was going to take his diaper off and poop in his bed during nap time. But of course it didn't stop there. Then he proceeded to smear it all over the bed, floor himself and even take a taste YUCK YUCK YUCK ! Oh the pleasantries of being a parent :) On the plus side, Roscoe and I were able to snag my mother in law to babysit for a couple of hours and got to spend a nice grocery trip and a visit to a local shake establishment in peace. Sunday was baking day. We made out very first homemade bread and it turned out WONDERFUL. To top off the baking day we also made 2 apple berry pies. YUM.

Please remember that today is Valentine's Day and gifts from the heart are more meaningful. Even something as simple as a homemade card. Keep it simple, and enjoy being loved.

Read Through All Of Your Children's Books 100000x ?

I have the perfect solution for you if you have read through your children's books so many times that you dont even need the book to tell the story. I know that they all have their favorites but it is nice to mix it up every once in a while. At Story Time For Me you can choose from free books online. Currently they have 3 series that you can play through for your children. It highlights the words as the narrator reads through the story. There are settings like pause, replay, animation options and manual page turning. Its good to occupy your kiddos for a few minutes before a nap and/or bedtime or even just a few minutes for mom to get something accomplished. The stories are friendly and informative but not for very young children. The stories are longer and there are a lot of words per page. Don't just take my word for it, check it out for yourself.

Please Keep The Cole Family In Your Prayers

This family is a friend of my Pastors. Chad and Sara Cole were in a car-semi accident. Sara had passed due to her injuries. She was 34 weeks pregnant. The baby was taken c-section and just the other day they took little baby Miranda off the ventilator and she passed away as well. Please keep Chad in your prayers as well as Sara's parents and all other friends and family. He has blogged about his experience and is a wonderful writer. You can see all of his posts on his blog.

Keep a kleenex handy because this will tug every heart string you have. Please lift them up in prayer. He has a rough road ahead.

rest in peace little one <3

On Call Husband

My wonderful husband is on call. For those of you who have odd hours, late night pagers and a full time job... I commend you! My husband does a very good job providing for us and I do not for a minute take any opportunity he takes on for granted, but when that pager goes off I am wide awake LONG after he leaves. :( Hence this post, and most likely hundreds more like it, since he is in the field as his career and we are a long way from retirement.  At some point I am hoping to just be able to block it out kind of like sleep selective hearing. Rascal sleeps through it like nothing ever happened which absolutely amazes me because his room is connected to ours... oh to be a toddler again. :) I need to ask him what his secret is. Well I suppose I should try and get some sleep.... but not before I enter some giveaways :) Yep, I'm hooked on them.... and I'm proud to admit it.

I WOULD REALLY LOVE TO DO A REVIEW BUT I DONT HAVE ENOUGH TWITTER FOLLOWERS!!!

Purple Oats for Breakfast?

I am always in search of new ideas in the breakfast department. This morning I feel that I stumbled on something wonderful. The best part is that it is super easy to make, super healthy for the kiddos (mom and dad too). Just take quick oats and boil the water as usual. Then take strawberries, blueberries and whole milk and toss it in the blender. *fruit is changeable* Blend it so it is a semi smoothie. Then pour the water on the oats..make it a little thick because the milk and berries will add more fluid. Then pour the milk and berries over the oats... mix it up and ENJOY! oh and the best part is that your kids will love how purple the breakfast is.... you could name it monster oats or something catchy if you have picky eaters.
