"Outlast"ing The Cold Season 6 Hours At A Time

I do not have enough good things to say about Outlast Long Lasting Hand Sanitizer. I was very excited to try it out after some other rave reviews I had read.  I would like to thank the nice folks at Outlast for allowing me to review such a great product. (*) This product did even better than what I had expected. It was very smooth and not greasy.  I also really liked that the smell was not over powering, nor was the amount of sanitizer you needed to apply excessive.  It dried very quickly and I didn't have to do the "dry the hands" fanning motion, or wipe the excess on my pant leg. :) The best part was knowing that I didn't have to re-apply tons of times during the day since Outlast lasts for up to 6 hours.  I worry about germs constantly especially with being pregnant and having a lower immune system, but when I used Outlast I didn't worry about running my errands and being around the cold and flu shoppers, as the season is rapidly sneaking up on us.  I also rest assured that I will not be passing anything on to my son during the sick season. Keep in mind that Christmas is just around the corner so instead of sharing germs, stuff your stockings with Outlast for a happy healthy flu season. Once we run out I will definitely be ordering more, I recommend that you do the same.
Go visit the nice folks at Outlast today!

*Please note: I did receive this product as a free sample from Outlast. The review that was given was my true personal opinion and was not coached or swayed by the company in any way.

Terry Washcloth Bunnies, Frogs and Mice WAHM Review

A lovely Work At Home Mom made these adorable teething and boo boo soothing wash cloth animals. I snagged one up as soon as I came across the tester forum. Currently, she makes bunnies, frogs and mice. My little one tested the the frog. The pro's: its a washcloths, so its easy to clean, rinse off. I am also a fan because if you feel uncomfortable with putting an ice cube in for teething you can wet the bottom half and pop it in the freezer for a little bit, leaving the bottom end frozen but the top part (the head) not too cold to hold onto. The con's: The ribbon was too long, I had expressed my concerns and she told me that she had no problem making the ribbon shorter. The neutral: I have yet to try it in the washer and dryer, but since it is a washcloth I would imagine I may just have to reshape a little after its washed and dried. As a whole, I was very pleased with this product and wish her all the best of luck. For more details please check out  Monkey Beans at http://hyenacart.com/glitterandgumdrops/

Garbage Pickens

I am a frugal momma. I love great deals and we are a self proclaimed "semi-green" family. I was going to a mommy meeting last night and while driving down a local back road I hit the garbage "jackpot"! I <3 GARBAGE DAY! If only my car trunk was bigger. :( I had to choose between a little tikes picnic table and a little tikes car. I then realized the picnic table would not fit in my trunk, so, I chose the car. It is structurally sound, I truly don't know why anyone would just throw it away. But now Mr. Mack has a super cool cruiser for the awesome price of FREE! I do need to clean it off though. I was very pleased with the evening from there on out. But I did leave it in my trunk last night because my dear husband hates, I mean really, really hates when I bring home free stuff.
But pictures speak a thousand words and Mack had fun "driving" up and down the sidewalk....with some help from me of course.

My "Official" review of the Little Tikes Blue Push Cruiser:

The price was right for me since I had gotten it from someones garbage, but brand new the car retails for about $50. In normal circumstances I would deem that overpriced and not purchase the car brand new. That being said, the car is very durable, very easy to clean and will last from your first child to your last and then on to your grandchildren. So all in all, you would be getting a great deal for a product that will last. In this case I would not mind purchasing the Little Tikes Blue Push Cruiser brand new. You will pay a little more in the beginning but the product you are purchasing is high quality and worth every penny.

My Mind Is Made Up!

Today is the first day of, well, its a new day anyway. But I think that I should be more consistent in my blogging. Besides the fact that I find it funny to read past entries I also find it to be calming. Kind of like my knitting.... or lack there of lately. lol. I tried to knit a hat. I mean I gave it the good 100% college try, and ended up taking out my crochet needle and making the first baby hat ever crafted by my chubby little fingers. I felt accomplished until I looked at it. LOL. It is the "wonkiest" hat I have ever seen in my life! Mack was in good spirits so I had him model for me. Poor little fella. He has been subjected to the wrath of modeling before, only last time it was a little girls dress.LOL. I had found a pattern and decided to sew a dress just because. Needless to say there are no pictures of that event. Now it is time to get off this lovely machine and get some housework done.... and make some brownies. Until tomorrow!

Oh this morning....

Updates: We are still using cloth diapers and LOVING THEM!!!!!! one of the better decisions I have made I am pretty sure. Still love sewing I have the intention of sewing my own cloth diaper here before too long, and love knitting also, have been knitting lots of dish rags lately. I rather enjoy them even if they are a little lop-sided.

I have been in a slight slump lately due to an out of town hubby, my favorite fur-baby being put down, the baby and all the fun that goes along with him. Speaking of the baby, he has came down with a LOVELY case of Hand, Foot and Mouth. On Sunday the 4th we were battling a high fever of 102.6 but we broke the fever **Happy mommy dance** and now we are just waiting for him to stop being oober contagious. Until that time we are on lockdown :( oh how I miss the world around me when I cant go out in it. :)

I made a batch of homemade sugar cookies and then didnt feel like baking them. So I put them in a container in the freezer for a rainy day.lol

I also tripped over a baby gate with hair color on my hair.... not a good combo but thankfully I didnt get the color on the carpet and my broken toe will heal. Sometimes I strongly dislike baby gates.

Until next time.

Deciding to Use Cloth

In efforts to be more eco-friendly and save $$$ I have decided to switch my son to cloth diapers. We will see how this endeavor works out but I am sticking to my guns and hopefully success will come out of this adventure.

I am going to be listing DIY cloth diapering things that I find useful, so maybe you will also.

Bye Bye Weight

I am in a competition for weight loss. I signed up because I decided that it would be good to get the extra off since I couldn't diet while pregnant. Mack was born December 14th 2009. I weighed in at a hefty 271lbs. To date I have lost 61.5lbs and counting. I feel so much better and I am currently only 10lbs away from being under200lbs. Which hasn't happened for me for a good 3years or so. I am very excited to see how things go.

I have also started the your baby can read series with Mack. Currnetly, we are on day 3 so we will see how that goes. :)

Making Things

I have started a new hobby, and I am very excited about it. For the longest time I never really felt like I had a purpose. I wanted to find something that I enjoy and can also make some of my own money, even if it is a small amount. So I found sewing. I was never taught how to sew so the idea never really came into my head that I could try it. I have borrowed an extra sewing machine from Grandma and have started a really fun journey, making things that others can benefit from. Currently, I am making heat therapy packs, ring slings, nursing covers/hooter hiders, and security blankets. I have also picked up the knitting needles once again and have been knitting here and there just as more of a time filler. My goal is to have enough product made that I can enter a local festivals craft tent this summer. We will see how things go with that. :) If you are reading this and are interested in any of the products I mentioned please let me know. :) I will be posting pictures and prices later on. Thank you. And for now, loves!

New To Blogging
